Industrial Buyer (M/F)

AFF (Les Ateliers de Fabrication Ferroviaire) is an SME in the railway sector located in Somain, specializing in the transformation, renovation, and maintenance services of railway rolling stock: locomotives, passenger cars, urban transport, and main components. We are a human-sized company (80 employees), proud of the diversity of its profiles. What is our strength? Our motivation and the fact that we give meaning to our work! Somain is a few dozen kilometers from Valenciennes, Douai, and Lille. Our site is located 10 minutes walking distance from the Somain station. The project occupying us today consists of renovating/transforming a passenger train to turn it into a luxury hotel train running on the national rail network.

As part of reinforcing our Purchasing department, we are looking for an Industrial Buyer in a CDI.

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will manage several strategic purchasing families to guarantee the availability of products and services necessary for our activity, while optimizing costs, lead times, and quality.

Your missions: You will notably be required to:

• Manage several purchasing families.
• Identify supply needs in connection with the technical, quality, and production teams.
• Launch calls for tender and analyze supplier proposals.
• Search for, select, and qualify new suppliers.
• Negotiate prices, lead times, payment terms, and contracts.
• Place strategic orders and ensure their follow-up.
• Manage supplier disputes and follow associated action plans.
• Implement and monitor purchasing contracts.
• Evaluate suppliers and participate in supplier reviews.
• Conduct technical, economic, and regulatory monitoring.
• Identify cost optimization opportunities.
• Ensure the monitoring of performance indicators (KPI) and reporting of your activity.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of the Purchasing department.

Your profile: You are recognized for your rigor, your negotiation skills, and your ability to manage several files simultaneously. Ideally, you possess:

• Higher education in purchasing, commerce, or supply chain (Bac +3 to Bac +5).
• Successful experience in industrial purchasing.
• Good mastery of negotiation techniques and contract law.
• Excellent mastery of Excel and ERP tools.
• Ease with office tools (Excel, ERP, Power BI).
• A professional level of English.
• Knowledge of the industrial sector, ideally railway.
