Environment Consultant (EMMP)

Responsibilities: Support in the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Environmental Baseline Studies (EBS), and Environmental Management and Monitoring Plans (EMMP).  Prepare and/or update EMMP requirements, monitoring programmes, and technical specifications in accordance with regulatory and project requirements.  Plan, coordinate and/or conduct environmental monitoring, including terrestrial ecology, water quality, air quality, noise, and other relevant environmental parameters.  Review and analyse environmental monitoring and survey data to identify trends, assess potential impacts, and recommend appropriate mitigation or management measures.  Assess compliance with applicable environmental requirements, approval conditions, permits, and commitments, and support follow-up actions where required.  Prepare technical reports, monitoring reports, impact assessment documentation, and other environmental deliverables.  Liaise with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other relevant stakeholders on environmental matters.  Support the Project Manager in project planning and delivery, including coordination of scope, programme, resources, budget, deliverables, risks, and actions.  Support the preparation of proposals, scopes of work, fee estimates, and project schedules for EIA, EBS, and EMMP assignments. 

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, or related field. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in environmental management, monitoring, and compliance for terrestrial projects. Experience with environmental monitoring techniques (soil, water, air, noise, biodiversity). Familiarity with EIA, EMMP, and EBS processes. Ability to use data analysis tools (Excel, GIS, or statistical software). Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and coordinate field activities. Experience with field surveys and sampling protocols. Budgeting and cost estimation skills for environmental projects.
