Want to play a key role in taking Monster Energy into new markets across Africa?

Know how to turn complex food & beverage regulation into a clear route to market?

Comfortable being the person people turn to when the regulatory answer isn’t straightforward?

Monster Energy is continuing to grow across Africa, and we're looking for a Regulatory Affairs Senior Manager – Africa to help make that growth happen.

This isn't just about keeping products compliant.

You'll help determine where and how Monster can launch , what it takes to enter new markets, how we navigate complex regulatory environments and how we overcome the barriers that can stand between an idea and a product hitting shelves.

From new market entry and complex product registrations to labelling, ingredients, regulatory advocacy and emerging legislation, you'll become one of Monster's key regulatory authorities for Africa.

The Company

Monster Energy is more than an energy drink. It's a lifestyle.

For more than 20 years, Monster has disrupted the beverage industry by doing things differently, backing athletes, artists, motorsport, gaming, music and the communities that live and breathe the brand.

Today, Monster has 6,000+ people across 70+ countries , with 17 energy drink brands globally , products sold in 150+ countries and more than 500 global ambassadors .

But Monster still operates with a challenger mentality.

It's entrepreneurial, fast moving and built around people who own what they do, challenge convention, find solutions and GSD .

And as Monster continues to expand across Africa, Regulatory Affairs has a major part to play.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Regulatory Affairs – Africa , you'll act as a senior regulatory technical authority for the region , helping turn Monster's commercial ambitions into viable routes to market.

A major part of your role will be new market entry .

Before Monster launches into a new country, you'll help answer the big questions: Can we sell the product? What needs to be registered? Are the ingredients permitted? What needs to change on-pack? Which authorities need to be engaged? How long will approval take? And, when the regulations aren't clear, what's the most commercially practical and compliant way forward?

You'll work across markets with very different regulatory frameworks, partnering with Monster's African and global teams, bottling partners, consultants, regulators and industry stakeholders.

And when something complex lands that doesn't fit neatly into an existing regulatory guide, you'll be one of the people expected to find the way forward.

What You'll Own:

New Market Entry: Lead regulatory scoping for Monster's expansion into new African markets, identifying requirements, risks, dependencies and viable routes to launch. Complex Registrations: Provide technical leadership across complex or non-standard product, ingredient and pack registrations. Product & Labelling Compliance: Interpret requirements covering formulations, ingredients, nutrition, claims, artwork and labelling across different markets. Regulatory Strategy: Build practical, scalable regulatory frameworks that allow Monster to move faster while protecting compliance. Problem Solving: Take ownership of complex regulatory challenges involving registrations, customs, licensing, labelling or cross-market requirements. Regulatory Intelligence: Stay ahead of changing legislation and identify what emerging regulation could mean for Monster's existing portfolio and future growth. External Influence: Build strong relationships with regulators, bottlers, consultants and industry stakeholders and support regulatory advocacy across the region. Cross-Functional Leadership: Translate regulatory complexity into clear decisions for Project Management, Innovation, Operations and Commercial teams. Technical Leadership: Coach Regulatory Managers and Specialists and help raise regulatory capability and consistency across Africa.

What We're Looking For

You'll already have built significant Regulatory Affairs experience within food, beverages, dietary supplements or a closely related category, and you'll understand what it takes to operate across complex African regulatory environments.

Ideally, you'll bring:

Around 10+ years' Regulatory Affairs experience within food, beverage or dietary supplements. Strong experience working across multiple African markets , rather than operating solely within one country's regulatory framework. A track record supporting new-market entry and product launches . Hands-on experience navigating product registrations and regulatory authority engagement . Strong technical knowledge across ingredients, formulations, nutrition, labelling and claims . The ability to interpret unclear or evolving regulation and turn it into a practical business recommendation. Experience managing complex regulatory issues with significant commercial impact. Confidence engaging regulators, consultants, bottling partners and senior internal stakeholders. The ability to look beyond individual registrations and build repeatable regulatory frameworks and strategies across multiple markets. A relevant scientific degree such as Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering or a related discipline would be advantageous.

Working Environment

Home-based position in Lagos, Nigeria . Regular collaboration with Monster’s African and international teams. Weekly team meetings at the local bottling partner’s office. Up to 30% international travel across African markets.
