We are seeking a motivated and technically competent Project Engineer to join our engineering team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and coordinating ACMV/mechanical engineering projects from planning and tendering through installation, testing, commissioning and project handover.

The role requires close coordination with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal project teams to ensure projects are completed safely, within schedule, budget and required quality standards.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working in both an office and site environment and be able to manage multiple project requirements simultaneously.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Project Planning & Coordination
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor assigned ACMV/mechanical engineering projects.
  • Develop project schedules and monitor progress against agreed timelines.
  • Coordinate site activities with project managers, supervisors, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Monitor manpower, materials, equipment and site resources required for project execution.
  • Identify potential project delays, technical issues and resource constraints and escalate them promptly.
  • Assist the Project Manager in ensuring projects are completed according to programme and contractual requirements.
  1. Engineering & Technical Support
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, technical submissions and project requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of engineering deliverables.
  • Coordinate ACMV/mechanical installation works and ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot technical and operational issues relating to air-conditioning and mechanical systems.
  • Liaise with consultants and clients to clarify technical requirements and resolve site issues.
  • Assist in identifying discrepancies between drawings, specifications and actual site conditions.
  1. Site Supervision
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work progress and quality.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and site personnel where required.
  • Ensure installation works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications and applicable standards.
  • Monitor workmanship, materials and installation quality.
  • Coordinate testing, inspection and commissioning activities.
  • Follow up on defects and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  1. Project Documentation

Prepare and maintain project documentation including:

  • Tender documentation
  • Method statements
  • Progress reports
  • Material submissions
  • Technical submissions
  • Inspection and testing records
  • Project schedules
  • Site reports
  • Variation orders
  • Handover documentation
  • As-built drawings
  • Operation and maintenance documentation
  1. Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Communicate with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors regarding project requirements.
  • Attend project meetings and provide technical/project updates.
  • Respond professionally to customer feedback, complaints and technical enquiries.
  • Maintain good working relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Assist in resolving project issues promptly and professionally.
  1. Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure engineering works comply with applicable codes, standards, specifications and company requirements.
  • Support the implementation of QA/QC procedures.
  • Identify non-conformance issues and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Support workplace safety requirements and safe work practices at project sites.
  • Ensure project documentation and records are properly maintained.
  1. Tender & Commercial Support
  • Assist with tender preparation and technical documentation.
  • Review drawings, specifications and scope of works for tender requirements.
  • Assist with material and equipment quotations where required.
  • Support the Project Manager in monitoring project costs and variations.
  • Assist with preparation of progress claims and supporting documentation.
  1. Other Duties
  • Provide technical assistance to the Project Manager and management.
  • Support junior engineers, supervisors and project personnel where required.
  • Participate in company improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other reasonable duties assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Diploma, Degree or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, ACMV/HVAC Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Relevant technical qualifications with substantial ACMV experience may also be considered.

Experience

Preferred:

  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in ACMV/HVAC, mechanical engineering, building services or construction projects.

Fresh graduates:

  • Fresh graduates with a relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification may be considered for a junior Project Engineer position.

Technical Skills

Candidates should preferably possess:

  • Knowledge of ACMV/HVAC systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • AutoCAD knowledge.
  • MS Office proficiency.
  • Knowledge of MS Project or other project scheduling software will be an advantage.
  • Understanding of project documentation and construction processes.

LANGUAGE

  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin/Chinese will be an advantage where required for client, supplier or subcontractor communication.

REMUNERATION

Indicative Basic Salary: S$3,200 – S$4,500 per month

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, relevant experience and technical competency.
