Heavy Commercial Vehicles - Workshop & Field-Based Ipswich, Suffolk Permanent Position Competitive Salary We’re partnered with an established commercial vehicle business with a strong presence across the UK, supporting some of the country’s leading distribution and logistics companies. Due to continued demand, they’re looking for an experienced HGV Trailer Mechanic to join their Felixstowe operation. This is a hands-on role for someone who knows trailers inside out, takes pride in their workmanship and is comfortable working independently in a busy commercial vehicle environment. The Role You’ll be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of a wide range of HGV trailers, working from a well-established depot workshop with occasional field-based repairs. You’ll be trusted to diagnose issues, carry out repairs to a high standard and ensure vehicles are safe, compliant and ready to go. What You’ll Be Doing Inspecting and maintaining trailers to MOT standard Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs and servicing Working across multiple makes and types of HGV trailers Completing pre-delivery inspections in line with company procedures Carrying out occasional field-based repairs when required Completing job cards, paperwork and clock cards accurately Liaising with the Depot Manager and wider workshop team Working safely and maintaining high standards of workmanship Using your own initiative while contributing to a strong team environment What We’re Looking For Proven experience as an HGV / Trailer Mechanic Strong knowledge of trailer maintenance, servicing and repair Experience working within a commercial vehicle or transport environment Ability to inspect and repair trailers to a high standard Self-motivated, reliable and able to work independently Strong focus on safety and customer service Flexible approach to working hours Own tools essential HGV licence advantageous but not essential What’s On Offer Permanent position with an established UK commercial vehicle business Competitive salary Varied, hands-on work across workshop and field environments Established team and supportive depot operation Opportunity to work on a wide range of commercial trailers Long-term opportunity within a growing business
