Precision Engineering – Sliding & Fixed Head Southend-On-Sea, Essex Permanent Position

We’re partnered with an established precision engineering business producing high-quality machined components for a range of industrial sectors. The business operates a modern CNC machining facility, working across sliding-head and fixed-head machinery and producing complex components to tight, micron-level tolerances. Due to continued demand, they’re looking for an experienced CNC Turner / Setter to join their production team. The Role You’ll be responsible for setting, programming and operating CNC turning machinery, producing precision components accurately and efficiently within a low-to-medium volume environment. What You’ll Be Doing Setting and operating CNC turning machines Programming using FANUC controls Working with Star and Miyano machines Working across sliding-head and fixed-head turning Selecting tooling, workholding and cutting parameters Reading and interpreting engineering drawings Producing components to tight and micron-level tolerances Carrying out in-process inspection and dimensional checks Identifying and resolving basic machining issues Working closely with the production team to meet delivery requirements Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping What We’re Looking For Proven experience as a CNC Turner Strong CNC turning and machine-setting experience FANUC programming experience Star or Miyano machine experience – essential Sliding-head or fixed-head turning experience Able to read and interpret engineering drawings Experience machining to tight tolerances Good understanding of tooling and cutting conditions Twin-spindle experience advantageous Strong attention to detail and quality Reliable, professional and team focused What’s On Offer Permanent position Monday–Friday working hours Competitive salary – DOE Overtime available, including weekends Production-based bonus following qualifying period Modern CNC machinery and varied precision engineering work Long-term opportunity within an established engineering business
