Senior Engineer, Operations
Your tasks
Plans, coordinates, and supervises the safe and efficient oil and gas production, processing, and export operations, ensuring safe and efficient operation of the water injection, gas injection, gas lift, ESP wells, and CO2 injection and distribution. Maintain optimum operating efficiency and assure facilities and systems integrity and reliability while assuring compliance to HSE management system. Troubleshoot and recommend corrective actions to deal with abnormalities, de-bottlenecking, upgrading, and optimum operating conditions for the plant and processes.
Job specific accountabilities
- Review the operating data as per the planned production targets, past and present prevailing conditions including laboratory analysis and operating plant performance; highlight any major deviations from the design operating envelopes (parameters).
- Work closely with key stakeholders for alarm rationalization and alarm management and ensure compliance with alarm management KPIs, to ensure comprehensive plans are in the pipeline to achieve the mandated growth.
- Plan and carry out Field Technical Rate (FTR) and Field Capacity Test (FCT) to identify facilities’ bottlenecks, any potential problems, and to establish optimum parameters for efficient and safe operation.
- Coordinate with different stakeholders in the planning and implementation of production and injection adjustments to meet mandated oil production and gas, water, CO2 injection KPIs.
- Ensure data entries accuracy in PIES system related to production, injection, and export data periodically.
- Continuous follow-up with development and planning teams to conduct Field Sustainable Oil Production Rate (FSOPR) exercise in line with the business plan, conduct Reservoir Monitoring Program (RMP) and Water Alternating Gas Wells (WAG) changeover.
- Coordinate with Integrated Shutdown Planning Team and other stakeholders for the five-yearly shutdown plans, conduct shutdown optimization exercises related to shutdown, handover, and start-up, manpower distribution, and resource management; ensure yearly shutdown scopes are identified and performed within the approved shutdown period.
- Troubleshoot plant chronic problems related to surface facilities and participate in the root cause analyses of major or critical equipment repetitive failures to ensure production availability.
- Monitor the operation of equipment, prepare analytical reports with appropriate trends to track the performance of all processes. Highlight abnormalities and advise operation personnel on corrective actions.
- Check, endorse, and regularly review the operating procedures and standing instructions of the plant units for safe and cost-efficient operation.
- Actively engage with Technical Center and Project & Construction Teams in all stages of projects including design review, value engineering, 3D model reviews, and various HSE studies such as Hazard and Operability Review (HAZOP), Hazard Identification (HAZID), Occupational Hazard Identification (OHID), Inherent Safe Design (ISD), Safety Integrity Level (SIL) review, and plot plan review. Capture and provide lessons learned and operations feedback, raise concerns and ideas to improve overall project.
- Involve in Ready For Commissioning (RFC) walkdowns providing feedback and punch points, commissioning, and post-commissioning performance monitoring.
- Represent operations in new technology trials in the field and ensure all required reviews are completed prior to execution.
- Ensure all temporary and permanent changes performed for operational excellence are done through Change Management (MOC) processes and follow-up for appropriate approvals and execution plans. Ensure completion of engineering review, scope of work (SoW), budget security, and project inclusion for MOC execution.
- Direct involvement with Tactical Response Team (TRT) and Incident Management Team (IMT) during emergencies by providing guidance and training, acting as On Scene Commander, and being the main channel of information providing a holistic view about all facilities and ongoing activities.
- Participate in risk assessment, conduct site visits, and supervise 27 Critical Work Activities and High Risk Activities as well as non-routine critical activities.
- Participate in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) risk register review including meetings, reviews of the risk register, process safety committee forums, providing supporting documents and mitigation plans.
- Ensure the integrity of surface and subsurface facilities is maintained by taking appropriate preventive and remedial action on facility anomalies observed by the integrity team.
- Plan and perform integrity-related subsurface activities such as communication tests, Below Cellar Inspection (BCI), Sustained Annulus Pressure (SAP) investigations along with the well integrity team.
