IT Specialist (Instructional Designer)
The IT Specialist (Instructional Designer) position is in the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, Department of the Chief Information Officer; Product Development Office; System Readiness Division, Awareness, Training, and Education Branch (ATEB). The ATEB produces training on complex processes and technical topics (security, networking, databases), and provides distance learning for judiciary users.
Major duties
The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts; Department of the Chief Information Officer; Product Development Office; System Readiness Division; Awareness, Training, and Education Branch (ATEB) seeks an IT Specialist (Instructional Designer). The IT Specialist (Instructional Designer) is a technical trainer responsible for transforming technical information and processes into cohesive training materials for varied audiences attending live, virtual, and self-paced training courses. This position requires expertise in PACTS and PACTS360 software applications. The IT Specialist (Instructional Designer) position reports to the Mission Support Systems (MSS) team lead. The duties of the position include, but are not limited to: Delivering high-quality technical training across various platforms including live sessions, online webinars, and self-paced online training modules. Designing comprehensive training materials (i.e. job aids, instructional manuals, and computer-based training modules) that follow an established instructional design model. Translating complex technical content into detailed eLearning storyboards and writing effective scripts for audio, video, and interactive digital content. Partnering with subject matter experts to gather technical information, validate content, and evaluate course delivery effectiveness. Maintaining detailed project documentation and ensuring deliverables adhere to organizational guidelines. Producing professional-quality training materials and courses within tight deadlines and evolving priorities.
Qualifications
Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions. Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience in each of the following areas: Delivering high-quality technical training across various platforms including live sessions, online webinars, and self-paced online training modules. Designing comprehensive training materials (i.e. job aids, instructional manuals, and computer-based training modules) that follow an established instructional design model.
