Investment & Portfolio Construction Intern

Are you curious about financial markets, investment funds and how investment portfolios are constructed?

We are looking for motivated individuals with a keen interest in investment research, fund due diligence and portfolio construction to join our internship programme.

This is an opportunity to develop practical analytical skills, deepen your understanding of investment funds and gain exposure to professionals across the investment industry.

What You Will Learn

Fund Research & Due Diligence*

• Learn how to evaluate investment funds using performance data, risk indicators, fees and portfolio holdings.
• Understand key analytical measures such as alpha, beta, Sharpe ratio and volatility.
• Develop a structured approach to researching and comparing funds before they are considered for a portfolio.

Portfolio Construction & Asset Allocation

• Learn the principles behind portfolio construction and diversification.
• Explore how different asset classes and funds can be combined to understand portfolio-level risk and return.
• Participate in educational portfolio research exercises and present your findings.

Professional Development & Qualifications

• Eligible shortlisted candidates may receive sponsorship for relevant professional examinations, including M8, M8A and M6, subject to the programme's terms and arrangements.
• Candidates with existing industry-related qualifications, including RES 5, M9 and M9A, are welcome to highlight them in their applications. Applicants without these qualifications may also be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Industry Exposure & Networking

• Opportunities to network with fund managers and investment consultants from multinational corporations (MNCs), subject to availability.
• Selected interns may also have opportunities to work with investment lawyers and learn about the legal and structural aspects of higher finance.

• Willing to conduct independent research and explain their findings.
• Proactive, detail-oriented and committed to continuous learning.

Relevant academic backgrounds, industry qualifications or prior exposure to financial services are advantageous, but a strong willingness to learn matters too.
