Adecco is currently hiring a Line Cook for a full-time opportunity in a fast-paced café and food service environment in Saint John, NB. This role is ideal for experienced culinary professionals who are passionate about food preparation, customer service, quality, and teamwork.

Responsibilities: Food Preparation & Production

  • Prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold food items, including meats, vegetables, soups, salads, and other menu offerings.
  • Follow recipes and portion standards to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Maintain high standards of food presentation and quality.

Kitchen Operations

  • Handle, store, rotate, and label food products according to food safety guidelines.
  • Assist with inventory control and stock management.
  • Maintain accurate records and support kitchen administration activities.

Customer Service & Team Collaboration

  • Provide outstanding service and accommodate special food requests whenever possible.
  • Collaborate with the Café Manager and team members on menu planning and special events.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.

Health & Safety

  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with food handling regulations and company policies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Postsecondary education in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Food Safety Certification required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive cooking experience, including strong line cook experience.
  • Experience preparing a wide variety of meals in a commercial kitchen environment.
  • Strong understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
  • Experience with inventory control and kitchen administration is an asset.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service mindset and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work morning, evening, and weekend shifts as required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
