Public Sector Insurance Sales Officer
Responsibilities:
Business Development:
Identify and pursue insurance opportunities within ministries, departments, agencies, and government-owned institutions.
Develop and implement strategies for acquiring new public-sector accounts.
Monitor government procurement opportunities, tenders, requests for quotations, and insurance-related engagements.
Prepare and submit quotations, proposals, and tender documents in collaboration with relevant departments.
Client Relationship Management:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with government officials, procurement officers, finance departments, administrators, and other key stakeholders.
Serve as a primary contact for assigned public-sector clients.
Understand clients' insurance needs and recommend appropriate insurance products and solutions.
Follow up on renewals, outstanding documentation, premiums, and service-related issues.
Sales & Revenue Generation:
Achieve agreed sales, premium, and revenue targets.
Generate new business through networking, referrals, institutional engagements, and structured sales activities.
Cross-sell and upsell relevant insurance products to existing public-sector clients.
Maintain an accurate pipeline of prospective and existing accounts.
Account & Policy Administration:
Coordinate the collection and processing of client information required for underwriting.
Liaise with underwriting, claims, finance, and operations teams to ensure timely service delivery.
Monitor policy renewals and ensure continuity of coverage.
Follow up on premium payments and outstanding receivables.
Public-Sector Engagement:
Participate in meetings, stakeholder engagements, workshops, conferences, and government-related business forums.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of public-sector procurement procedures and relevant insurance requirements.
Ensure all engagements are conducted professionally and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, procurement requirements, and the company's policies.
Market Intelligence & Reporting:
Monitor developments in the public-sector insurance market and identify emerging opportunities.
Track competitors, market trends, pricing movements, and client needs.
Prepare periodic sales, pipeline, account development, and revenue reports for management.
Maintain accurate records of prospects, clients, tenders, quotations, and business outcomes.
Requirements:
A minimum of 4 years of experience A minimum of a degree in a related field
