About the company

Are you an experienced structural engineer who wants to work with complex structures and some of the most interesting technical challenges within subsea? We are now seeking a Structural Lead Engineer – Subsea Manifold Systems for a strong and highly competent engineering environment at one of the world's leading players in subsea and energy technology in Stavanger. Here, you will work with structural analysis and verification of subsea manifolds and the foundations they stand on – structures that must withstand significant loads and function safely and reliably for many years on the seabed. This is a role for you who likes to go deep into technical issues, while also desiring responsibility, influence, and close collaboration with other engineering disciplines.

Your tasks

This could be your next big engineering project As a Structural Lead Engineer, you will become a central part of the design team for subsea manifold systems. You will be responsible for structural analysis and verification, while supporting mechanical engineers in the development of robust and efficient design solutions for projects, tenders, and programs. Your tasks will include, among others:

  • Structural analysis and verification of subsea manifolds and foundations
  • Preparation of structural design reports, calculations, and drawings
  • Development and evaluation of technical design concepts
  • Determination of technical requirements based on the customer's functional specifications and project needs
  • Ensuring that designs and analyses follow relevant international standards and requirements
  • Leading and contributing to design and development activities
  • Presenting analyses and design results in design reviews
  • Collaborating closely with mechanical, piping, and other engineering disciplines
  • Coordinating technical interfaces, activities, and deliveries
  • Providing engineering support to project and program management
  • Supporting procurement and the supply chain through acquisition, production, and testing

In the design work, safety, quality, costs, and manufacturability will be important premises. In other words, you will not just analyze the construction – you will help develop the solution.

Requirements

Who are we looking for? We are looking for someone with a master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent, and who has a solid background in mechanical and structural analyses.

It is particularly interesting if you have

  • Experience with structural calculations and analyses
  • Good understanding of materials, strength calculations, and production processes
  • Experience with design and verification of steel structures or complex mechanical structures
  • Experience from subsea, offshore, oil and gas, marine construction, or other heavy engineering
  • Ability to understand and handle complex loads, interfaces, and design requirements
  • Experience with relevant international standards and design codes
  • Ability and willingness to take technical ownership and responsibility
  • Good communication skills in English, both oral and written

If you also have geotechnical competence or experience with foundation engineering, this will be a clear advantage. We are looking for a person who is proactive and result-oriented, and who can both work independently with demanding analyses and function well in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

What we offer

Competitive terms The position is initially offered as a 12-month engagement, with great opportunities for continuation.
