Cost Engineer

Prepare, monitor, and update project cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts throughout all project phases.

Analyze project drawings, specifications, and related documents to determine accurate cost projections.

Track and report on project expenditures, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions as needed.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure cost control measures are implemented effectively.

Evaluate contractor and supplier quotations to ensure alignment with project budgets and cost objectives.

Develop and maintain cost databases, historical records, and benchmarking data for future reference.

Assist in the preparation of tender documents, bills of quantities, and cost breakdowns for bids and proposals.

Conduct value engineering and risk analysis to optimize project costs without compromising quality or safety.

Prepare regular cost reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.

Support the financial close-out of projects, ensuring all costs are accounted for and reconciled.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.

2 to 5 years of proven experience in cost engineering or cost control within the construction industry.

Strong understanding of construction processes, project management, and cost estimation methodologies.

Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a keen attention to detail.

Ability to interpret technical drawings, contracts, and specifications.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Familiarity with local and international construction standards and regulations.

Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
