Safety Officer
ACW Engineering & Marine Services Pte Ltd is a rapidly expanding provider of integrated ISO Tank Depot, Chemical Storage Terminal, Dangerous Goods Warehousing, Tank Farm Operations, Engineering and Industrial Services.
We are seeking a committed and experienced Safety Officer to lead and maintain a strong Workplace Safety, Health and Environmental (WSHE) culture across our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act , SCDF Fire Code, NEA, MOM, IMDG Code, SS532 and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Conduct workplace safety inspections across ISO tank cleaning, repair workshops, tank farms, warehouses and Dangerous Goods storage areas.
- Administer and monitor Permit-to-Work (PTW) activities, including hot work, confined space entry, working at height, lifting operations and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO).
- Perform risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and Safe Work Procedure (SWP) reviews.
- Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe acts, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct toolbox meetings, safety inductions and employee training programmes.
- Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure compliance with site safety requirements.
- Support emergency response planning, fire drills, spill response exercises and Emergency Response Team (ERT) activities.
- Maintain safety records, statutory documentation and audit readiness.
- Promote continuous improvement in safety performance and safety awareness throughout the organisation.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Workplace Safety & Health, Environmental Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Singapore.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant safety experience in chemical plants, tank terminals, ISO tank depots, petrochemical facilities, logistics or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore WSH legislation, SCDF Fire Code, IMDG Code, Dangerous Goods regulations and Process Safety Management principles.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations and safety audits.
- Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and safety reporting systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following will have an added advantage:
- Fire Safety Manager (FSM) certification.
- Confined Space Assessor or Supervisor certification.
- Work at Height Assessor certification.
- ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO45001 Internal Auditor qualifications.
- Emergency Response Team (ERT) and First Aid certification.
- Experience with ISO tank operations, bulk liquid terminals or hazardous chemical storage facilities.
