Commissioning Technician (M/F)

Reporting hierarchically to the Engineering Office Manager and operationally driven by the Project Manager for each project, the commissioning technician is responsible for the preparation and execution of the startup of pilot and industrial units. He/She represents TIA on-site and ensures safety, compliance, and the achievement of expected performance. His/Her main activities are as follows:

• Prepare interventions: analyze contractual performance, specifications, P&ID, plans, technical files, and functional analyses; establish the commissioning schedule, checklists, test protocols, and requirements for tools, parts, PPE, and documentation.
• Control site preparation: verify the availability of utilities and the compliance of the installed equipment compared to approved documents; establish and follow up on the punch list.

• Supervise and coordinate on-site operations with the client, subcontractors, suppliers, and TIA teams, in compliance with the commissioning schedule with the help of the project manager.
• Perform preliminary tests: mechanical and hydraulic checks, leak tests, instrumentation and safety controls, input-output tests with the automation engineer, flushing, and automation tests in water.

• Put the installation into production: perform initial tests with product, adjust process parameters and cleaning sequences, then participate in performance validation and contractual acceptance.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation, or process anomalies; define corrective actions and coordinate their implementation with the relevant stakeholders.

• Guarantee QHSE requirements: apply the safety, hygiene, and environmental rules of TIA and the client, and immediately report any risky situation.
• Train and support the client: transmit operating and first-level maintenance instructions to operators and technical teams, then contribute to the handover of documents and acceptance reports.

• Report and capitalize: produce intervention reports, test records, and punch lists; update settings and information necessary for project completion files and feedback/lessons learned.

With a technical background of Bac+2/3 in industrial maintenance, electromechanics, electrical engineering, or process engineering, you may be a recent graduate or have significant initial experience in installation, commissioning, or maintenance of industrial equipment. The sought-after skills and qualities are as follows:

• Technical reading and preparation: understand a P&ID, assembly drawings, electrical diagrams, bills of materials, functional analyses, and supplier manuals.
• Industrial versatility: good foundations in mechanics, hydraulics, electricity, instrumentation, and automation. Experience in sanitary processes, food industry, or membrane filtration is an asset.

• Diagnosis and problem solving: methodically analyze an anomaly, secure and lock out an installation, identify probable causes, and propose appropriate actions.
• Customer relations and communication: adopt a service-oriented posture, clearly explain findings and decisions, coordinate multiple stakeholders, and write precise reports.

• Professional English: operational level required to communicate with clients and partners, understand documentation, and write simple reports; target B2 level.
• Soft skills: manual dexterity, rigor, autonomy, calmness in unforeseen situations, practical sense, adaptability, team spirit, technical curiosity, and a preference for field work.

• Mobility: driving license B mandatory and availability for frequent travel in France and internationally, sometimes for several weeks. Electrical certifications and safety training are a plus and can be completed depending on the profile.
