For an innovative project in the field of the energy transition, we are looking for an experienced Secondary HVDC Design Engineer (m/f/d).
Your tasks
- Specification, design, and integration of control, protection, and monitoring systems for HVDC converter stations
- Creation of detailed engineering documents such as:
- Circuit diagrams
- Cabinet layout plans
- Cable lists
- Logic diagrams
- Close cooperation with teams from primary technology, system studies, as well as Control & Protection
- Coordination of interfaces to internal specialist departments and external suppliers
- Creation and maintenance of technical documentation for manufacturing, customer approval, and commissioning
- Participation in design reviews and support during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
- Ensuring quality standards in engineering
Your profile
- Completed degree in the field of:
- Electrical Engineering
- Energy Technology
- Automation Technology
- or comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in the secondary design of switchgear
- Ideally experience in the HVDC environment or with large substations
- Sound knowledge in:
- Protection technology
- Station control technology (e.g., IEC 61850)
- Auxiliary power supplies (AC/DC)
- Confident use of CAE tools such as Engineering Base, EPLAN, or AutoCAD
- Structured, independent, and solution-oriented way of working
- Ability to work in a team and strong communication skills
- Fluent English skills, good German skills are an advantage
