Head of Industrial Technical Services (M/F)
Job Description:
As part of its recent organizational development, the company has created a Technical Department dedicated to the structuring and consolidation of its expertise. Today, the team is in place. The next challenge? Making it operate efficiently, continuing the structuring of knowledge, and supporting the company's future projects.
And for this, it is not necessarily looking for the best technical expert on the market.
It is primarily looking for a good manager.
The Position
Reporting directly to the General Management and as a member of the Executive Committee, you will take responsibility for a team of 4 technical leads with complementary expertise: welding, dimensioning, CAD/CAM, and methods/processes.
Your role will be that of a true conductor: you are not intended to be technically better than your collaborators, but to know how to make them work together, organize their priorities, and create the conditions that allow them to be high-performing.
Concretely, your missions will be to: Manage and support the technical team, distribute responsibilities, priorities, and workload; Continue the structuring and formalization of expertise: standards, parametric plans, calculations, sequences, processes, and technical documentation; Lead technical projects and coordinate the various internal expertises; Organize service flows based on projects, commercial requests, and operational needs; Provide, with your team, technical support to the sales and operational teams, particularly on quoting, tenders, and project issues; Develop a continuous improvement logic to optimize quality, safety, costs, and technical performance; Identify, justify, and manage technical investments: equipment, tooling, software; * Guarantee the compliance of practices and documents with applicable standards and regulations; Support new product development projects in the long term; Participate in strategic decisions and ensure reporting of your activity to Management.
The position thus combines local management, project management, technical structuring, and industrial vision.
Profile Description:
You are an engineer by training and have built your career in an industrial environment.
You have already demonstrated your ability to manage a team and/or technical projects, to structure working methods, and to make different professions collaborate around a common goal.
Your background may come from a technical department, methods, industrialization, project management, or continuous improvement. The latter can, in fact, constitute an excellent entry point to the position.
You do not know the company's technology or market? This is not a deal-breaker.
The sector is specific enough that the company does not expect to recruit someone who already masters all of its processes. The experts are in the team; the knowledge specific to the activity can be acquired.
However, you must know how to: manage expert profiles without trying to do their job; lead several projects and arbitrate priorities; structure without becoming rigid; analyze a problem and bring forth solutions; communicate and work transversally with different departments; maintain a high-level perspective while remaining close to the field; evolve with pragmatism, flexibility, and reactivity within an SME.
You must also be comfortable in an environment where exchanges are direct and where everyone must be able to step outside their strict scope when the situation requires it.
Proficiency in English is essential, particularly for working with certain technical documents.
Why join this company?
Because here, the position is neither that of an isolated technical expert, nor that of a manager far from the field.
Your team already possesses the expertise. Your mission will be to transform them into a collective strength.
You are joining an SME where you can truly influence the organization: consolidate technical standards, streamline projects, support investments, and, tomorrow, participate in the development of new products.
With a seat on the Executive Committee, the position also offers real visibility into the company's challenges and decisions.
