Health, Safety and Environment Assistant (M/F)
About the company
You will be integrated into the heart of a partner industrial site in Saint-Louis, reporting directly to the site's SSE Manager. The SSE Manager maintains primary control over operational management in contact with the teams; you will take charge of all administrative, documentary, and SSE communication with the group. You are the one who structures, formalizes, consolidates, and reports information.
You are not alone: reporting to the site's SSE Manager, you are also part of a national network of SSE collaborators with whom you exchange best practices, feedback, and complementary expertise.
Your tasks
Your role Right hand to the SSE Manager, focusing on the administrative and group communication aspects.
From your first weeks, you will plug into the existing SSE system—processes, tools, frameworks, routines—to quickly become an autonomous and credible relay.
- Documentary management of prevention plans and intervention files
- Preparation, monitoring, and updating of SSE procedures, instructions, and operating modes
- Monitoring of safety indicators, consolidation of dashboards, and contribution to continuous improvement
- Regulatory monitoring and normative watch
- Preparation of internal and external audits (file assembly, documentary review, follow-up on non-conformities)
- Administrative management of safety training: summons, monitoring of certifications, traceability
- Production of SSE reporting for management and the group
- Interface between the site SSE Manager and group interlocutors on SSE topics
- Drafting of minutes, notes, and internal SSE communications
- Participation in cross-functional project exchanges requiring an SSE relay on the group side.
You also appreciate
- Demanding industrial environments, with real challenges regarding co-activity and group reporting
- Working in a duo with an SSE Manager who truly delegates subjects to you
- Running a system, making it reliable, and improving it continuously.
Requirements
This position is for you if:
You have a degree in HSE / SSE (Professional License, Master's, engineering school, or equivalent) and you have significant initial experience in an HSE position on an industrial site.
You are deeply autonomous: this is the number one criterion. You know how to take on a file, manage it, and finish it without needing reminders.
You like to structure, formalize, and manage: building a clean dashboard, keeping documentation up to date, preparing an audit without letting anything slip through. Administration is not a chore for you; it is your playground, where you provide real added value.
You are comfortable speaking and know how to communicate at the group level: presenting a report, leading a monthly meeting, or defending an indicator before management or project interlocutors does not intimidate you; in fact, it is one of the aspects of the job you enjoy.
You have a minimum English level of B2: written and oral exchanges with non-French speaking interlocutors are part of the site's daily life.
You are agile with IT tools and comfortable with AI: you do not struggle with SSE software, dashboards, or AI tools.
