Corporation Tax Senior Manager / Associate Director Portsmouth + Hybrid Working £75,000-£95,000

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Corporation Tax Senior Manager or Associate Director to join a growing tax team in Portsmouth. This is a senior leadership position offering the opportunity to take ownership of complex corporate tax work, develop key client relationships, lead and mentor a team, and play an active role in the continued growth of the practice.

The Role Lead on complex corporate tax engagements across a varied portfolio of larger and high-value clients. Oversee corporate tax compliance, reviewing complex tax computations, returns and final tax packs. Provide strategic tax advice and support clients with tax planning and wider advisory matters. Act as a senior point of contact for key clients, developing trusted and long-term relationships. Take ownership of complex technical matters, researching legislation and providing commercially focused solutions. Lead, manage and develop members of the corporate tax team, providing coaching, mentoring and constructive feedback. Delegate effectively and ensure work is appropriately allocated according to team members' experience and skill levels. Take responsibility for team capacity and resource planning, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are consistently met. Keep the team up to date with changes in tax legislation and organise relevant technical training and knowledge-sharing sessions. Work closely with senior leadership to identify opportunities for improving processes, efficiency and use of technology. Contribute to the strategic development of the corporate tax offering. Build a strong external network and identify opportunities to generate new business and referrals. Attend client and networking events, representing the practice and promoting its corporate tax services. Play a key leadership role within the wider tax department and contribute to a positive, high-performing team culture. About You CTA, ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent qualification. Significant corporate tax experience gained within an accountancy practice. Strong technical knowledge of UK corporation tax and experience handling complex tax matters. Proven experience managing a portfolio of corporate clients. Strong client relationship and communication skills, with the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders. Previous experience managing, mentoring and developing a team. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. A commercial mindset with a genuine interest in business development and growing client relationships. The ability to lead by example, make decisions confidently and take ownership of complex challenges. A proactive approach to improving processes, efficiency and the overall client experience.
