System Engineer (Windows and Unix)

Responsibilities:

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server and Unix/Linux systems .
• Manage and support Active Directory (AD)including user accounts, group policies (GPO), OU structure, and access control.
• Configure and maintain DNS, DHCP, and file/print services in Windows environments.
• Manage and monitor system backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, NetBackup, Windows Backup) to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
• Perform system restoration and disaster recovery testing.
• To install, configure, and support middleware platforms (e.g., WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat, IIS).
• Perform OS patching, upgrades, and security hardening for both Windows and Unix/Linux systems.
• To automate administrative tasks using PowerShell, Bash, and Shell scripting.
• Manage virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V) and support cloud environments if applicable.
• Participate in on-call support, incident response, and problem management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in system engineering or administration roles.
• Hands-on experience with: Windows Server (AD, DNS, GPO, backup solutions) Unix/Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, AIX, Solaris)
• Strong knowledge of: Windows Server administration (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Backup/Recovery) and Unix/Linux system administration (file systems, permissions, services)
• With work experienced in Terraform. And preferably experience in Ansible.
• With familiarity in middleware technologies: IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic, Apache Tomcat, JBoss, IIS; Basic scripting like PowerShell, Bash, Shell scripting and Knowledge of Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Good to have certifications in: Microsoft Certified (Windows Server / Azure) OR Linux certifications (RHCSA, RHCE) and Middleware certifications (optional advantage)
