Company Overview
We are a Singapore-based company specializing in oil and bunker trading with an established presence across Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. As part of our strategic expansion into the renewable energy and bunker business, we are seeking a motivated and highly seasoned Business Development Manager to join our growing regional team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage both inbound and outbound sales opportunities within the regional energy market, specifically targeting petroleum, clean energy and petrochemical products.
- Conduct regular regional client visits to identify, qualify, and close new physical trading and sales opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with regional customers, refiners, distributors, and industrial end-users.
- Coordinate closely with trading, operations, and chartering teams to manage cargo scheduling, shipping documentation, and contract execution.
- Evaluate indicative pricing, deal volumes, and payment terms, while supporting counterparty credit and risk check assessments.
- Monitor international market trends, identify new commercial opportunities, and develop long-term strategies to maximize sales growth.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of commercial experience in international trade, oil & gas, petroleum, or industrial distribution sectors.
- Technical Skills: Strong technical and commercial understanding of petroleum, petrochemical, and renewable/alternative fuel products. Capable of translating technical product characteristics into commercially viable opportunities for regional customers and suppliers.
- Core Skills: Proven track record in P&L ownership, contract negotiation, supplier sourcing, and risk management across multiple economic cycles.
- Travel: Willingness to travel frequently for client meetings within Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia as required.
- Language: Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is highly advantageous to effectively liaise, negotiate pricing, and build direct relationships with refiners, suppliers, and business partners based in Indonesia.
