We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious Junior Accounts Assistant to join a thriving retail business based in the heart of vibrant Manchester.

Your tasks

Working as part of a friendly and supportive finance team, you'll initially build on your Accounts Payable experience before gradually gaining exposure to wider accounting responsibilities.

• Processing supplier invoices and managing purchase ledger transactions.
• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice queries.
• Assisting with payment runs and bank reconciliations.
• Supporting the preparation of month-end accounts.
• Helping with expenses, journals and general ledger tasks.
• Working closely with the wider finance team to develop your accounting knowledge.
• Taking on additional responsibilities as your confidence and experience grow.

Requirements

This role is perfect for someone with 6-12 months' experience in Accounts Payable who is eager to broaden their finance knowledge, develop their accounting skills and progress into a well-rounded Accounts Assistant role.

If you're already studying AAT, or looking for an opportunity to start your qualification alongside gaining valuable hands-on experience, we'd love to hear from you!

• Around 6-12 months' experience working in Accounts Payable or a similar junior finance role.
• A genuine interest in developing a long-term career in accountancy.
• Started studying AAT or is keen to begin their studies.
• Good Excel skills and excellent attention to detail.
• A positive, proactive attitude and a willingness to learn.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
