Cloud Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to design, implement, operate and support cloud and containerized technology platforms in an enterprise environment.

The role involves cloud infrastructure, DevOps automation, container platforms, middleware technologies, monitoring and IT service management. The successful candidate will also contribute to the adoption and operation of emerging AI technologies and cloud-based architecture patterns.

The position involves production support and may require participation in shift and rotational on-call support .

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain cloud infrastructure across AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) .
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform .
• Deploy, configure and support containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes .
• Develop automation and operational scripts using Python, Java, Bash, Unix Shell and PowerShell .
• Configure, maintain and troubleshoot enterprise middleware platforms including WebSphere, JBoss, WildFly, Tomcat, Apache and Kafka .
• Support CI/CD and DevOps automation using tools such as Jenkins, Ansible and Git .
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging and operational-management solutions.
• Support enterprise monitoring and analytics platforms such as Nagios, OMI, ServiceNow and Geneos .
• Manage incidents, problems and changes in accordance with ITIL Service Management practices.
• Perform troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and preventive actions for production issues.
• Support cloud and infrastructure automation initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
• Contribute to the implementation and operation of AI-enabled solutions and understand relevant architecture patterns, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic architectures and Model Context Protocol (MCP) .
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security and operations teams to ensure platform reliability and performance.
• Participate in production support, including shift work and rotational on-call support .
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures and support documentation.
• Communicate technical issues and solutions effectively to stakeholders and support teams.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related discipline , or an equivalent qualification.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, DevOps or related technical roles.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP cloud platforms.
• Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes .
• Programming or scripting experience with one or more of Java, Python, Bash, Unix Shell or PowerShell .
• Experience supporting enterprise middleware technologies such as WebSphere, JBoss, WildFly, Tomcat, Apache or Kafka .
• Understanding of ITIL Service Management , including incident, problem and change management.
• Experience with DevOps and automation tools such as Jenkins, Ansible and Git .
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring, logging or analytics tools.
• Understanding of modern AI architecture concepts such as RAG, agentic architectures and MCP .
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer-service orientation and ability to work effectively as part of a technical team.
• Willingness to participate in shift and rotational on-call support .
