Backend Engineer (Java & LLM Integrations)

Currently, we are searching for a full-time Engineer to cooperate with our UK client - BioPharma organization. The mission is to unlock the potential of AI/ML to improve the lives of patients. Our client delivers powerful cloud software and services specifically designed to meet the evolving needs of the BioPharma sector.

⚠️ Due to the client's location, sometimes the team works until 6:00 PM CEST. Meetings scheduled after 5 PM CEST are usually planned in advance.

Daily tasks

• Building a Model Context Protocol (MCP) tool framework to enable seamless AI capabilities
• Developing prompt-based conversational skills and AI agent workflows
• Implementing a generic proxy API framework to invoke IDBS API endpoints
• Designing and building a secure authentication proxy layer
• Implementing robust token validation, caching, and authorization mechanisms

Requirements

At least 5 years of Java practice Strong experience with Java 17+ and the Spring Boot framework Deep understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP), LLM integrations, and AI Agents Solid background in REST API design, integration patterns, and caching strategies Hands-on experience with application security, including JWT and OAuth protocols Knowledge of integrating external platform APIs (such as IDBS) is a strong plus
