SEN Teaching Assistant - Challenging Behaviour Support
Your tasks
£90 - £105 per day dependent on experience There is an exciting opportunity at an Alternative Provision setting based in Gloucester. This is a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant opportunity. The setting are looking for someone to support a small cohort of children who display challenging behaviour and have social, emotional mental health needs. A one year contract is on offer. Experience with SEMH, ASD, Team Teach training, ADHD and a teaching assistant with experience in a similar position is suitable for this role. The position begins ASAP.
There are SEND children within the setting and your role will be to support their individual needs. The needs include ADHD, ASD, dyslexia, global delay, SEMH, physical and behavioural challenges. Experience working with one or more of these is ideal for this role.
Requirements
The Alternative Provision setting would ideally like to meet candidates who have a degree and who have some experience working with Special Educational Needs e.g. Autism, ADHD, dyslexia. The children can present challenging behaviour so will require someone with confidence and experience to control and calm this. This role will entail a variety of responsibilities and will offer excellent experience for the teaching assistant appointed. Minimum standards will include Maths and English at GCSE graded C or above.
Team Teach training would be very desirable for this role!
