Mental Health Assistant - Swindon

A friendly specialist school in Swindon is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support professional to join its team on a full-time basis. The school supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs and provides a nurturing environment where students can develop academically, socially and emotionally.
As part of the Mental Health Support team, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support.
- Help pupils develop emotional regulation and coping strategies.
- Encourage positive behaviour and decision-making.
- Support students to access learning and build confidence.
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral and therapeutic staff.
This Mental Health Support role would suit a Psychology or Criminology Graduate, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker or caring individual who wants to build experience in mental health. You will develop practical experience supporting young people with anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma-related needs and emotional or behavioural challenges.
The Mental Health Support environment is structured, supportive and focused on helping pupils overcome barriers to learning. You will receive guidance from experienced staff and gain insight into therapeutic and restorative approaches.
