Make every school day a chance to shine! Do you have the patience to understand a child's world, the compassion to help them overcome challenges, and the enthusiasm to celebrate every little victory? We're looking for dedicated, nurturing and adaptable SEN assistnats to support primary schools across Newcastle-under-Lyme and the surrounding areas on a full time supply basis. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with special educational needs while gaining experience across a variety of primary school settings. Whether you have experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, sensory needs or social, emotional and mental health needs, we want to hear from you! What will your role involve? Every child learns differently, and your role will be to help them discover what works best for them. As a SEN support Assistant, you will: Build meaningful connections: Develop trusting relationships with pupils, helping them feel safe, valued and ready to learn.

Champion individual needs: Provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support to children with additional learning needs.

Make learning accessible: Adapt classroom activities, use visual resources and introduce creative approaches to help pupils engage with their learning.

Support emotional wellbeing: Help children regulate their emotions, develop confidence and navigate social situations.

Celebrate progress: Recognise achievements, big and small, and encourage pupils to become more independent.

Work as part of a team: Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.

Embrace variety: Adapt to different classrooms, school routines and pupil needs as you work across local primary schools.

We're looking for someone who brings more than experience to the classroom. We want someone who genuinely cares. You will ideally have: Experience supporting children with SEN in a school, nursery, care or similar setting. A patient, calm and compassionate approach, particularly when children are experiencing difficulties. The confidence to adapt your approach to meet different communication, behavioural and learning needs. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with teachers and other professionals. A proactive attitude, flexibility and a willingness to embrace new environments. A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers and reach their potential. If you believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, we would love to hear from you.
