Academic Work is hiring a Test Automation Engineer to support a banking-sector client in Helsinki, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test suites for payment systems.
The role requires at least one year of test automation experience and advanced skills in Python, Robot Framework, and Jenkins, plus ISTQB-level testing knowledge and fluent English.
The position offers a supportive team, flexible remote work two days a week, Epassi lunch deduction, and the assignment lasts at least six months with the client.
A credit check will be conducted for the selected candidate and the recruitment process includes a personality and a cognitive test.

Specializing in payment systems, this role drives the overall quality, reliability, and continuous improvement of software delivery through technical understanding and hands-on execution.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing scalable test automation frameworks, formulating comprehensive test plans, and performing detailed test analysis, case design, and execution. The position requires deep analytical skills to conduct root cause analysis on complex defects within payment workflows, alongside strong stakeholder management to clearly communicate risks, testing progress, and quality standards across cross-functional teams.
We are looking for
At least 1 year of prior work experience with test automation within a corporate or enterprise environment
Advanced knowledge of Python, Robot Framework and Jenkins
Good general testing knowledge to the level of ISTQB Foundation Level
Experience with test tools and test management tools
Fluent English skills both written and spoken
Excellent problem-solving skills
It is meritorious if you have
Experience and/or knowledge of payments or financial domain
Experience managing complex systems consisting of components based on various technologies and diverse types of interfaces
Experience with AI-assisted test automation
