About the position
Our client is a specialist and market leader in advanced electronic control/steering systems for vessels/vehicles as well as power distribution modules for eMotor control. They develop hardware and software that optimizes performance, reduces fuel consumption, and lowers emissions. Applications range from marine and automotive applications to industrial engines for renewable fuels as well as next-generation hybrid and electric systems – all with a heritage from high-octane motorsport.
As a hardware engineer, you will play an important role in the development of next-generation electronic control units (ECUs). You will become part of a collaborative and high-tech engineering team where your work makes a direct difference. You will work towards a global market and support customers in the EU, USA, India, and the UK – all the way from initial requirement specification to mass production.
Tasks
In this role, you have ownership over the entire lifecycle of hardware development. You are responsible for delivering high-quality products on time and within the project framework.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Overall responsibility for hardware design: Develop specifications, schematics, component configurations, and printed circuit board (PCB) design for advanced electronic control units (ECUs).
- Documentation and strategy: Create bills of materials (BOM) and documented design strategies, including descriptions of hardware design and precise calculations.
- Design verification: Ensure technical excellence through rigorous testing and verification phases.
- Customer collaboration: Act as a technical bridge for customers worldwide. This involves understanding their needs, supporting them from the prototype stage to certification, as well as occasionally traveling to customer facilities to assist with on-site implementation.
We are looking for you who
- Has an academic degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, computer engineering, or a similar field.
- Has several years of experience in hardware development - preferably at a company within the automotive industry.
- Has good knowledge of hardware for embedded systems.
- Has fluent skills in English, both spoken and written.
It is meritorious if you have experience in:
- Being a team leader – daily planning and follow-up of deliveries.
- Development of Power electronics.
- Emotor control.
- Unmanned vessels/vehicles.
- Low-level software: Hardware interface (HWIF) and eTPU coding.
- Establishing and maintaining customer relationships.
