A warm welcome to submit your application!

About the position

As a Lead Electrical Engineer at Metso, you belong to the EIA team (electrical, instrumentation, and automation). You will become part of a group of seven specialists working on advanced machine projects for customers all over the world.

In this role, you will take overall technical responsibility for electrical design within assigned projects. You will work on creating, reviewing, and developing electrical drawings and technical documentation, as well as planning and following up on activities throughout the entire project lifecycle. Here, you will also work with improvements, standardization, and knowledge sharing within the team.

The work is based at the facility in Kil and involves limited travel, but when necessary, you will participate on-site at the customer during commissioning.

What we offer

  • Clear training paths, mentorship, internal mobility, and opportunities for global collaboration
  • A competitive benefits package
  • An inclusive and open workplace with colleagues who help each other thrive and succeed
  • The opportunity to take on significant technical responsibility and develop within a global industrial group

Tasks

  • Produce, review, and develop electrical schematics and technical documentation, as well as contribute to work regarding risk assessments, machine safety, and CE marking
  • Bear technical responsibility for the electrical design in projects, which includes planning, coordinating, and leading the work for internal and external resources
  • Act as technical support throughout the entire process – from feasibility studies and supplier dialogue to manufacturing, commissioning, and quality assurance
  • Actively drive the development and standardization of working methods within electrical design, as well as develop concepts for upgrades of existing machines

We are looking for someone who

  • Has post-secondary education in electricity, electrical engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • Has experience in industrial electricity, electrical design, or electrical systems for machines
  • Has experience with CAD/CAE systems, preferably EPLAN, or a strong interest in developing within electrical design
  • Has an understanding of industrial automation, for example PLC, drive systems, and instrumentation
  • Has very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written

We view it positively if you have a practical background, for example as an electrician, industrial electrician, or another technical role where you have worked hands-on with electrical systems, installation, or troubleshooting. The most important thing is that you have a strong technical understanding and enjoy taking responsibility for driving technical solutions forward.

It is meritorious if you have

  • Experience of projects within the process industry, mining industry, or manufacturing industry
  • Experience of machine safety and CE marking
  • Experience of installation and commissioning
  • Experience of leading or coordinating technical work

The work takes place on-site in Kil. If you are applying from another location, we would like you to describe in your application how you plan your commute to the workplace.
