Job Description
Dieffenbacher is a German, globally operating machinery industry company that focuses on the design and manufacture of press systems as well as entire board industry production lines. In this role, you will play an important part as a member of the Nastola mechanical design team of approximately 20 people. You will be responsible for specific equipment assemblies and perform related design work. You will work in close cooperation with automation designers and the mechanical lead designer to ensure projects move forward smoothly. Additionally, you will direct external consultants and ensure the quality of the work. Every project brings something new, so you will get to challenge yourself with new ways of working and opportunities.

Job Tasks
Your key tasks
- Equipment responsibility: You are responsible for designated equipment assemblies, handling among other things equipment improvements, cost monitoring, supporting project design, and equipment documentation.
- Design: You design customized customer orders (heavy structures), Creo & AutoCAD
- Quality assurance and partner guidance: You direct the design work performed by consultants and ensure that the work meets high quality standards.
- Practical cooperation and inspections: You cooperate with workshops, automation design, and product development, perform equipment inspections, and communicate with customers if necessary.
- Field work: You participate in problem-solving at installation sites if necessary (site visits approximately 5–15 days per year).
What do we expect from you?
- Mechanical Engineering Engineer or DI (Master of Science in Technology)
- Solid design experience (preferably over 4 years) in heavy structures (1–20 t), machines, and machine parts manufactured by welding or machining.
- Fluent English skills (as a primary working language, e.g., in workshop communications).
- Ability to work full-time at the Nastola office during the probationary period. After the probationary period, the possibility to work 2 remote days per week.
- Readiness to travel abroad approximately 5-15 days per year.
- Responsibility, a proactive and precise way of working, as well as good interpersonal skills.
We consider it an advantage if you have:
- Good proficiency in Finnish.
- Understanding of the requirements and possibilities of different manufacturing methods.
- Experience in strength calculations and motor dimensioning.
- Previous "hands-on" experience in welding / assembly work.
