Job Description

We are looking for a Solution Engineer / System Developer for our client to work with product configuration solutions, CPQ-type systems, and related integrations. The client company is an international technology company whose solutions play a significant role in the development of industry and sustainable technology.

In this role, you will develop and maintain both ready-made configuration platforms, such as Tacton CPQ, and the client's own internal systems. The role is not a pure coding role within a ready-made development team, but an independent and versatile position where you solve user needs, make changes directly to systems, and turn development requests into practical solutions.

The preferred location is primarily Vaasa, where a large portion of the system users and business stakeholders are located. Helsinki and Turku are also possible locations, provided you are willing to travel to Vaasa occasionally and have experience in requirements gathering and collaboration in a remote environment.

Job Tasks

Your workday may include, for example, reviewing development requests from users, making system changes, troubleshooting errors in code, inspecting API interfaces and integrations, and designing technical solutions together with the Solution Architect and other stakeholders.

In this role, about half of the working time is focused on practical development. At the same time, you are close to the system users and get to understand how product configuration solutions support broader business and design processes. Success in the role requires the ability to tackle even unclear matters, find solutions independently, and turn user needs into concrete improvements.

In this position, you will be responsible for, for example, the following areas:

• Development and maintenance of product configuration solutions and CPQ-type systems
• Making changes and fixes to systems based on user feedback and development needs
• Further development of the client's own configuration system and Tacton-type solutions
• Reading, modifying, and writing production-ready code
• Working with API interfaces and system integrations
• Supporting users and ensuring service functionality
• Gathering and refining requirements together with business and technical stakeholders
• Supporting documentation, testing, and change management
• Collaboration with the Solution Architect, business users, and other experts
• Supporting future technical solutions and platform choices as part of a broader roadmap

The person we are looking for

The person we are looking for has a strong interest in system development, product configuration solutions, and integrations. You do not need to be a finished architect or CPQ specialist, but you must be able to work independently on technical solutions and understand how systems communicate with each other.

You are a suitable person for the role if you have:

• An appropriate higher education degree, for example, in computer science, software development, production engineering, or another relevant field
• Practical software development experience and the ability to read existing code and make changes to it, as well as write production-ready code
• Experience or a good understanding of API interfaces and system integrations
• Proficiency in technologies such as: .NET, C#, JavaScript, React, Node.js, Python, relational databases
• Good communication and collaboration skills in an international environment
• The ability to act independently, investigate matters proactively, and complete tasks
• Fluent English skills

We consider the following as an advantage:

• Experience with product configuration solutions, CPQ systems, or rule-based configurators
• Experience with Tacton CPQ solutions or similar platforms
• Experience with systems in industry, design, PLM, ERP, or engineering environments
• Experience with agile methodologies, Scrum, DevOps practices, or ITSM processes
• Proficient skills in Finnish or Swedish

Practical details

• Location: Primarily Vaasa, but Helsinki and Turku are also possible
• Work model: Hybrid model, with most working days being on-site
• Travel: Occasional travel to Vaasa if based in Helsinki or Turku
• Working hours: Full-time, permanent
• Start: Beginning of August 2026

• Language: English is mandatory, Finnish and Swedish are considered an advantage
