Automation Engineer

<p>Our client is a <strong>machine builder</strong> ranging from components to complete machines and associated software. With production sites and teams in the US, Europe, and Asia, they have an international reach.</p><p>To expand their engineering team in Gent, they are looking for an <strong>Automation Engineer</strong> with the following tasks and responsibilities:</p><ul><li>You are <strong>responsible for PLC machine control and SCADA programming</strong> for new machines. This includes aligning the installation schedule regarding automation with the project manager.</li><li>You create or modify the functional description of the machine.</li><li>You <strong>perform the functional final inspection</strong> before shipping the goods to be installed.</li><li>Furthermore, you assist with upgrades and service interventions for machines at customer locations.</li><li>You <strong>determine the PLC and network components</strong> in consultation with the electrical engineer and project manager.</li></ul> <ul><li>You have a <strong>master's in electrical engineering - automation</strong> or a similar field with a <strong>focus on automation/electricity</strong>.</li><li>You already have <strong>a number of years of experience as an automation engineer</strong> at a machine building company, but <strong>driven juniors are also eligible</strong>.</li><li>You have <strong>expertise in PLC machine control and programming</strong>, especially with Siemens (TIA Portal, Step7) and at least one other (Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Beckhoff, Schneider, ...).</li><li>Experience with various process visualization systems such as WinCC, Wonderware, and iFIX is a plus.</li><li>You can read and understand electrical diagrams.</li><li>Affinity with IT programming languages (.NET, C++, C#, SQL, ...) is a plus.</li><li>You can set priorities and work independently without losing team spirit.</li><li>You have a <strong>hands-on</strong> personality and a <strong>commercial/customer-oriented mindset</strong>.</li><li>You are willing to travel internationally (up to 30%).</li><li>You speak <strong>fluent English</strong> and preferably also Dutch.</li></ul><p><strong>Would you like more info or are you interested?</strong><br><strong>Contact Gert Van de Walle via gert.vandewalle@absolutejobs.be or 0499 88 08 69.</strong></p>
