GROUNDSMAN

Key Responsibilities: Assist linemen with the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of power lines. Prepare and organize tools, equipment, materials, and work areas. Handle and transport poles, cables, transformers, hardware, and other electrical materials. Operate trucks, bucket trucks, diggers, winches, and other equipment as trained. Assist with setting and removing utility poles and installing electrical equipment. Maintain safe work zones, including traffic and pedestrian control. Use hand and power tools safely and properly. Follow electrical safety procedures, company policies, and applicable regulations. Assist with storm restoration and emergency power-line repairs. Perform basic grounds work, digging, clearing vegetation, and site cleanup. Communicate effectively with linemen, supervisors, and other crew members. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and at heights when required.

Qualifications/Requirements: Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous construction, electrical, utility, or outdoor labor experience is an advantage. Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift heavy materials. Willingness to work at heights and around electrical equipment. Valid driver's license; commercial driver's license (CDL) may be required depending on the employer. Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs when necessary. Strong commitment to safety and teamwork. Completion of a lineman/groundman apprenticeship or electrical training is an advantage.
