Social Media Intern

Your tasks

The Social Media Intern will support Abodes Lagos’ digital presence by helping prepare, organise, and publish social media content. This role is suited to an enthusiastic, creative, and dependable learner who wants practical experience in social media coordination, content planning, and digital marketing.

• Assist with preparing and maintaining social media content calendars.
• Help draft captions, post descriptions, and basic copy in line with the company’s brand voice.

• Schedule and publish approved content across the company’s social media platforms.
• Monitor comments, messages, and basic audience engagement, escalating enquiries or complaints to the appropriate team member.

• Research relevant trends, content ideas, hashtags, and competitor activity.
• Support the collection and organisation of photos, videos, graphics, and other content assets.

• Assist with campaign coordination and ensure content is prepared for scheduled dates.
• Track basic performance metrics such as reach, engagement, views, and follower growth.

• Prepare simple performance summaries and suggest practical improvements.
• Carry out other reasonable digital marketing and content support tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Genuine interest in social media, digital marketing, content, and online communities.
• Good written communication, attention to detail, and an understanding of appropriate online tone.

• Basic familiarity with platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
• Comfort using digital tools such as Canva, Google Workspace, or social media scheduling tools is an advantage.

• Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and follow brand guidelines.
• Good organisation, consistency, and ability to meet agreed deadlines.

• Prior professional experience is not mandatory; demonstrated interest, initiative, and willingness to learn are important.
