As Commercial Section Head, Hematology, you will lead the strategic development, tactical implementation, and financial planning components of all matters related to sales and marketing of the brand strategy across several therapeutic areas and manage client-related activities and other commercial activities. This mandate includes leading and coaching sales and marketing teams to maximize engagement and growth with the aim of achieving short- and long-term performance results, while centering all efforts on the patient. Key responsibilities: Effectively manage and execute all brand-related marketing and sales activities in accordance with brand plans, such as developing and implementing the brand commercial strategy and executing brand-related tactical activities, to maximize or exceed brand sales and profit margins while respecting budgets. Optimize resource utilization by leading, developing, and coaching the performance of the sales team, including setting sales objectives and motivation programs, managing sales team management systems and key performance indicators to continuously improve sales. Ensure regular updates on sales team skills in medical, technical, compliance, and specific field knowledge required. Take responsibility for determining brand profit and loss based on sales, resources, and financial forecasts (updates and long-term plan). Define the future direction of existing and new products or business opportunities to maximize commercial results and foster continuous growth. Professionally manage and develop cross-functional collaboration between key stakeholders. Ensure the timely transmission of quality market intelligence and brand-related tactics to brand and field teams to optimize brand strategy and its execution. Coach and develop employees and build succession plans to ensure continuous high performance and an engaged talent pool for sales and marketing. Liaise with relevant global and affiliate functions to integrate their brand vision and strategic objectives into the local brand planning strategy. Work collaboratively with the division leadership team, in a spirit of solidarity, to maximize alignment and engagement within business units. Be a role model for AbbVie's ways of working and enable the brand team matrix to function in a way that achieves high-quality strategy and execution capability for all assigned brands.
Basic requirements: Bachelor's degree in science, commerce and (or) business administration, preferred. MBA, an asset. Relevant experience coupled with a solid track record in a marketing and sales position within the pharmaceutical industry. Ability to develop a business vision and translate it into realistic strategies and actions. Ability to recognize emerging talent, coupled with the ability to manage performance issues, through a genuine commitment to self-improvement and the improvement of others. Experience in launching innovative pharmaceutical products. Excellent functional knowledge of the healthcare environment and the evolving landscape. Great capacity for innovation, allowing for the development of new solutions to solve problems. Excellent knowledge of strategic and tactical marketing principles and techniques (including digital). Extensive experience leading large sales teams. Ability to function and lead effectively in a matrix environment. Solid understanding of financial principles, market access, compliance (IMC), and the regulatory world. AbbVie strives to provide a French-speaking work environment to its employees in Quebec.
