Software Developer for ABB Ports
You have a university degree, preferably with a focus on computer science or equivalent. Meritorious experience includes primarily Delphi, C#, Java, and databases. If you have a few years of professional work experience, it is a merit, but you can also be at the beginning of your career. Most important is that you come in with great personal drive and a desire to learn new things and deepen your knowledge. You are a person who enjoys working both in a team and independently. Since you will have international customer contacts, it is a requirement that you master English, both spoken and written. Good knowledge of Swedish is considered a merit. Now we are looking for an additional software developer who wants a developing job in the rapidly increasing market of robotized crane systems. As a software developer at Ports, you will get to work with technically advanced products on various platforms with a high pace of development. You will become an important part of the team that develops software for the cranes' information systems. The team works agilely and primarily delivers graphical applications for everything from crane operators and maintenance personnel to business developers. Most of the development is done in Delphi, C#, and Java.

You will become a part of Ports, which is expanding in Västerås. ABB's business for crane systems helps ports and shipping companies to move containers in a fast, reliable, and cost-effective manner. Ports' competence lies in advanced automation and information systems for motion control of all types of container cranes. We have a very strong position on the world market and work in all parts of the world. In larger terminal projects, we deliver electrical and automation systems for 50-100 cranes for a container terminal in one of the world's largest port cities.
In a modern container terminal, there are stacking cranes, hundreds of tons heavy robots that automatically move and, with high precision, stack containers in layers, as well as remote-controlled quay cranes that load and unload ships. The cranes are coordinated from a central control room to achieve optimal production.
