ECAD/PLM specialist

You will be part of ABB's HVDC unit (High Voltage Direct Current) within the Power Grids division in Ludvika, which develops, manufactures, and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. This ABB-developed HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. HVDC is also used to connect power systems.

HVDC Light ™ was developed by ABB and is in high demand on the market today. The technology is especially suitable for power plants where overhead power lines cannot be built or where power system capacity needs to increase. HVDC Light is also used to connect offshore structures such as platforms and wind turbines and offers a good response to today's demands for environmentally friendly solutions. The ECAD tool is Engineering Base (EB), AUCOTEC's technical platform for high-efficiency technical collaboration. EB is object-oriented, with an SQL database used in computer-aided Engineering Tools (CAE) that offer solutions for electrical, instrumentation, and power engineering for various industries. You will work in a team of 12 specialists in ECAD / PLM (Engineering Base) and MCAD / PLM (NX / Teamcenter).

Your main stakeholders will be global users of Engineering Base in Sweden, India, China, Canada, United Kingdom, as well as business leaders at these sites.

Tasks

As an ECAD / PLM Specialist, your typical tasks / responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Business analysis to translate business requirements into concrete, state-of-the-art solutions.
• Administration, installation, and configuration of Engineering Base.

• Training, troubleshooting, and support of Engineering Base.
• Application-related process development with continuous improvements.

• Implementation and maintenance of ECAD standard and base design libraries.

Requirements

You have a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or equivalent. To successfully take on this position, you also need technical skills. Proficiency in English is required, while Swedish and other additional languages are highly valued.

Experience working as an electrical designer or system administrator with knowledge of electrical tools, specifically Engineering Base, as well as experience in customizing and creating macro customizations in EB (C-sharp, VBA) for code development, is qualifying.

Other important qualities are your ability to collaborate with your colleagues and skills in documenting installations and creating guidelines. Finally, you are precise and organized, as well as pedagogical and confident in your role.
