Automation Engineering Manager

Applicants should have a university degree, preferably with a focus on technology. You should also have experience in R&D or industrial projects such as control systems, automation, power, and drive systems. Since you will be working in a global company, it is important that you are proficient in English, both spoken and written. We are looking for a leader who can work with our leading engineers and help them grow. Your passion and drive are in business and technology. You have the ability to empathize with the situation of employees and customers and are good at communication. As a manager at ABB and in this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of leading engineers in Umeå and Västerås working on delivery projects with the latest solutions and products. Since we are ABB's ”Main technology Center” for automation within underground mines, you will also be responsible for managing development projects in close cooperation with ABB's research centers or with subcontractors/partners. You will be based in Umeå and mostly work in the region. We have a global responsibility that gives you the opportunity to meet customers and ABB in other places around the world. Additionally, you will be part of various networks within the company and the process industry at large. Here, you will have a social everyday life with many different contacts in a very successful and developing company. You will become part of Process Industries Operation in Umeå, which is part of the Industrial Automation division. We are a unit within ABB that sells and delivers systems and services that increase operational reliability and revenues in our customers' production facilities. We do this by delivering solutions for power supply, control, drives, protection, automation, and process integration to the mining and mineral extraction industry. Knowledge of our customers' industry and our extensive product range has given us a strong position in the market.
