Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking for a hands-on role where your skills can have a real impact?

We’re looking for a proactive, multi-skilled Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering and facilities team at our Consett site , supporting operations within the aerospace and defence sector.

This is a varied role where you’ll take ownership of site facilities, plant and critical services, keeping everything safe, reliable, compliant and operational .

What you'll be doing

• Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Fault-finding across electrical, mechanical and building-services systems .
• Maintaining site infrastructure including power, lighting, HVAC, water and drainage.
• Supporting critical site services and responding to breakdowns.
• Working with contractors and specialist service providers.
• Supporting statutory inspections, compliance and permit-to-work activities.
• Assisting with new installations, modifications and commissioning.
• Identifying opportunities to improve reliability, energy efficiency and maintenance processes .

What we're looking for

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience in facilities, industrial, manufacturing or engineering maintenance .
• Strong electrical and/or mechanical maintenance experience.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance.
• The ability to read technical drawings, schematics and manuals.
• A strong understanding of health and safety in an engineering environment.
• A practical, hands-on approach and the ability to work independently.
• Experience with HVAC, BMS, electrical distribution, compressed air, pumps, fire systems, generators/UPS, CMMS or contractor management would be advantageous.
• IOSH / NEBOSH qualifications would also be beneficial.

Working hours Monday–Thursday: 8:00am–5:00pm Friday: 8:00am–1:00pm
