2x Application Developer (Banking) |(1 Supporting + 1 Developing)

Location: Singapore Contract Duration: 12 Months (Renewable/Convertible, subject to performance/headcount) Salary Range: $5,000 - $8,000 Working Hours: Monday to Friday, standard office hours

About the Role

Our client, a leading bank in Singapore, has multiple openings for Application Developers (Intermediate) within its technology division. These roles involve application development, release management and production support, working closely with internal technical teams, business analysts and UX teams.

Role 1: Application Developer – Release & Production Support

Key Responsibilities

• Write scalable, robust, testable, efficient and easily maintainable code.
• Translate software requirements into stable, working, high performance software.
• Ensure software packages and programs are well documented and have reasonable test coverage.
• Collaborate closely with internal technical teams and business users on investigation, testing and deployments.
• Handle release management, raise change requests and schedule the implementation of fixes and enhancements.
• Conduct root cause analysis, and support management communication and client relationship management with the infrastructure service support team.
• Ensure all production changes are made in accordance with life-cycle methodology and risk guidelines.
• Support application support activities, including deployment of releases, patches and fixes on the platform.
• Analyse application performance, perform tuning and ensure high availability and stability of the platform.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in application development or software engineering.
• Experience with release management, change management and production deployment processes.
• Good understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Prior experience in the banking or financial services industry is advantageous.

Role 2: Application Developer – Django Python, Risk Systems

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain the application using the Django Python framework.
• Build secure and scalable REST APIs and backend services, following best practices for software engineering standards, testing and release management.
• Implement complex business logic, including risk metric computation, dashboards, workflows and data quality checks.
• Develop and maintain responsive UI components using HTML and CSS.
• Work closely with Business Analysts and UX teams to deliver intuitive user interfaces.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and performance optimisation.
• Work as part of an Agile team, understanding user requirements and contributing to product evolution.
• Implement and maintain software quality metrics such as clean coding, code coverage, system performance and system security.
• Support code migration using the standard CI/CD pipeline, deployment and release management.
• Provide L3 support to the L1/L2 production support team, and attend to and resolve issues within SLA.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 5 to 10+ years of software development experience, with a minimum of 3 years working on banking or financial systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with the Django Python framework.
• Proven experience with MariaDB/MySQL in high-transaction systems.
• Solid knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• Experience building secure REST APIs.
• Experience with Linux environments and Git version control.
• Familiarity with NGINX/Apache.
• Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes, microservices architecture, Java, Angular, React or cloud computing platforms is a plus.
• Awareness of security practices such as encryption, authentication and fraud prevention.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with close attention to data accuracy and completeness.
• Good written and spoken English, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, output-driven environment.
