Senior roles within electronics, FPGA and technical project management – Västerås

We are now seeking several experienced engineers for an international industrial business in Västerås. Common to these roles is that they are close to advanced product development of electronic hardware and long-lived technical systems.

We are looking for you who have experience in one or more of the following areas:

• FPGA development
• Electronics development / hardware development
• Technical project management within electronics or embedded systems

These are roles for you who want to work close to the technology, in an environment where quality, robustness, and long-term product development are central.

About the roles

Depending on your background, you may work more as a specialist, broadly within hardware development, or with technical project management.

FPGA / digital electronics

For you with deep experience in FPGA, there is an opportunity to work with both new development and further development of existing solutions.

The work may include, among other things:

• development and integration of FPGA solutions
• simulation and verification
• troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• work with both new and older FPGA platforms
• integration with other electronics and communication solutions
• technical support in complex product and customer cases

We are not looking solely for someone who has worked with verification or a very delimited IP-block. For this direction, broad system understanding and actual hands-on FPGA development is important.

Electronics development / Hardware

For you with broad experience in electronics development, there is an opportunity to work through large parts of the product lifecycle, from requirements and design to verification, industrialization, and further development.

The work may, for example, encompass:

• analog and digital electronics
• PCB/PCBA development
• embedded hardware
• power supply and measurement circuitry
• high-speed design
• EMC/EMI
• lab verification and troubleshooting
• component changes, redesign, and lifecycle issues
• technical responsibility in development projects

Here, we are primarily looking for you who has developed hardware yourself and is accustomed to working practically with troubleshooting, verification, and problem-solving.

Technical project management

For you with experience in driving hardware or electronics development projects, there are roles with responsibility for the entire development chain.

You may, among other things, work with:

• planning and follow-up of technical development projects
• scope, time, cost, quality, and risk
• coordination between engineers, suppliers, and internal functions
• prototypes, verification, and validation
• industrialization and production introduction
• external development partners and suppliers
• agile project management and continuous improvement

For this direction, we are looking for you who has both documented project management experience and a technical background in electronics, hardware, embedded systems, or equivalent.

Who are we looking for?

We believe you have a university or engineering degree in, for example, electronics, electrical engineering, embedded systems, mechatronics, or a related field.

You have several years of relevant professional experience and recognize yourself in one of the profiles above.

Common to the roles is that you need to:

• have experience from technical product development
• be accustomed to working in a structured manner in complex development environments
• be able to collaborate with different technical disciplines and functions
• be analytical and solution-oriented
• be able to communicate unimpeded in English

Swedish is a merit but not a general requirement.

Experience from, for example, industrial automation, energy, automotive, defense, telecom, rail, medtech, or other advanced product development is relevant.

Extra interesting experience

Depending on the direction, it is a merit if you have worked with any of the following:

• VHDL or Verilog
• AMD/Xilinx or Intel/Altera
• multilayer PCB
• analog and digital design
• hardware verification
• oscilloscope, logic analyzer, and other lab equipment
• EMC
• embedded hardware
• system integration
• lifecycle management and obsolescence
• external design suppliers
• SAFe, Scrum, or other agile product development
• technical leadership or mentorship

You do not need to know everything. We are primarily interested in understanding where your technical depth lies and what type of responsibility you have had in previous development projects.

Practical information

Location: Västerås Extent: Full-time Start: According to agreement

The work is linked to a physical product development environment and therefore includes working on-site in Västerås. Some flexibility may exist depending on the role, seniority, and competence profile.
