Now we are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer for APOCCA who wants to combine technical depth with practical field work.

This is a role for you who enjoys being close to the technology, wants to work in projects from system design to commissioning, and appreciates the variation between office work, project work, and site work.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Automation Engineer at APOCCA, you will become a central part of the project delivery. You will work as an integrated part of the team throughout the entire project lifecycle, from start to finish.

The role includes, among other things:

  • Working with system design and PLC programming in medium to large-scale projects
  • Developing HMI and SCADA solutions
  • Troubleshooting, servicing, and optimizing automation systems
  • Responsibility for commissioning both in Sweden and internationally
  • Conducting technical dialogue directly with customers and partners

YOUR PROFILE

We are looking for someone who is technically confident, self-reliant, and enjoys a role where you can take responsibility. You have likely worked as an automation engineer at a system integrator, machine builder, or consulting firm and have experience taking solutions all the way to functional operation.

To succeed in the role, we see that you have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in PLC programming, preferably within industry
  • Experience in independently structuring and building PLC systems in larger projects (approx. 800–2000 IO)
  • Practical experience in commissioning on site
  • A good understanding of electrical drawings and industrial installations
  • Experience with at least one PLC system such as Siemens, Rockwell, or ABB
  • Good ability to document and write technical reports in English

We value broad PLC competence and practical understanding more than specialist knowledge in one specific system.

Meritorious for the position:

  • Electrical design (for example EPLAN)
  • Experience from process industry, energy, material handling, or marine/offshore
  • International project or commissioning experience
  • Knowledge of high-level languages such as C# or Python

As a person, we see that you are:

  • Communicative and confident in customer-facing situations
  • Genuinely interested in technology and have a clear ambition to deliver functional solutions
  • Flexible and able to shift focus when project priorities change
  • Driven, curious, and have a non-precious attitude
  • Independent in your way of working and preferably take your own initiatives

You represent APOCCA at the customer site and are the one who makes systems work in reality, which makes this role suitable for you if you appreciate that feeling.

At APOCCA, you are offered:

  • Short decision paths and an entrepreneurial culture
