Project Buyer (m/f/d)

About our client

Our client is an internationally active company in the plant engineering sector based in Bremen. The company develops and realizes technically demanding system solutions for industrial customers and accompanies international projects from planning to implementation. At the location, technical and commercial departments work closely together to successfully realize individual customer projects.

Tasks

• Responsibility for the procurement of technical components and services within international customer projects
• Independent execution of inquiries, comparison of offers, as well as price and contract negotiations
• Selection and support of suitable suppliers as well as the establishment of long-term and reliable supplier relationships
• Coordination of delivery dates and procurement requirements to ensure a smooth project process
• Close coordination with project management, design, and other technical and commercial departments
• Analysis of cost structures and identification of economical procurement alternatives
• Monitoring of market and price developments as well as the development of suitable national and international sources of supply
• Active participation in the further development and optimization of internal procurement processes

Qualifications

• Completed commercial or technical training or a comparable qualification; a degree with an economic or technical focus is an advantage
• Several years of professional experience in operational or technical procurement of a manufacturing company, ideally with a connection to project or plant engineering
• Experience in the procurement of technical components, products, and services
• Good technical understanding and interest in complex products and individual customer projects
• Experience in price and contract negotiations as well as a confident and binding appearance towards suppliers and business partners
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented way of working
• Good to very good English skills for cooperation in an international environment
• Proficient use of ERP-Systemen and common MS-Office applications
• Willingness for occasional business trips
