Information Governance Manager
We are seeking an experienced Information Governance Manager to lead the Information Governance function within a new Children and Families Trust.
This is a key role providing expert advice and leadership across UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, FOI, EIR, information security and records management . You will act as Deputy Data Protection Officer, oversee IG processes and officers, and support the organisation in ensuring personal information is handled safely, lawfully and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operational delivery of Information Governance services.
- Provide expert advice on data protection, privacy, FOI, EIR and information security.
- Act as Deputy Data Protection Officer.
- Lead DPIAs, data sharing agreements, privacy notices and information risk assessments.
- Manage and develop IG officers, providing coaching and quality assurance.
- Support data breach management, investigations and improvement planning.
- Lead IG audits and assurance programmes and present reports to senior management.
- Oversee SAR, FOI and information rights processes.
- Build effective relationships with NHS, Police, Education and other partner organisations.
- Provide IG guidance for new systems, digital projects and process changes.
About You
You will have significant experience delivering Information Governance services within a public-sector or regulated environment , with strong practical knowledge of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 .
You should also have experience supervising staff, managing complex information, producing high-quality reports and communicating complex information clearly to a range of audiences. A degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in Information Governance, Data Protection or a related field is desirable.
A high level of integrity, strong analytical skills and the ability to manage sensitive information are essential.
