Projects Portfolio Lead (non-product projects)
At 2N, we are building the future of building access and movement within them - for everyone, whether you have full shopping bags or some kind of health disability. You can find our intercoms and access systems from Dubai to New York: in residential buildings, offices, and hospitals. You might have rung one of them without even realizing it.
We have been on the market for 35 years, growing and prospering steadily. Today there are over 500 of us, and we develop our own hardware and software, including the entire product lifecycle. We care about work-life balance.
What is the role about? As Projects Portfolio Lead, you will be responsible for leading and developing the portfolio of non-product (corporate and transformational) projects at 2N – from prioritization and capacity planning to implementing governance and ensuring the quality of the data upon which portfolio management stands. This is a foundational role: you will take over an established agenda after its first annual run and move it to the next level, systematically and with a clear impact on the organization's operations, customers, and business. You will work closely with other managers and leaders across the organization – from Finance, Operations, R&D, and the parent company Axis – and report directly to the CFO. We are looking for someone who can combine expertise in portfolio and project management, processes, leadership, and the ability to change established ways of working. The team will initially be small – you will ensure a large part of leading other colleagues indirectly, through matrix management.
What you will be doing: You will create a portfolio management strategy for non-product (corporate and transformational) projects at 2N, further develop it, and address strategic topics related to the company's growth. You will manage and continuously update the project portfolio, set prioritization, and implement capacity simulations (we are just starting with these in the company – you will build upon them). You will implement project governance and methodology where it is currently missing – templates, processes, decision-making forums (portfolio review, steering committee). You will harmonize this with the part for product projects. You will lead selected strategic and complex projects end-to-end – from initiation through planning to implementation and closure. You will regularly report the status of the portfolio, projects, and capacity to the CFO and company management and facilitate decision-making forums. You will work closely with Finance, ICT, R&D PMO/POM, and the parent company Axis to align product and non-product portfolios as well as technical capacities. You will introduce automation, digitalization, and AI tools into portfolio management and across the organization, and ensure the quality of project data as a foundation for future AI-driven analyses and scoring. You will gradually build your own team while also being strong in the indirect/matrix leadership of collaborating colleagues across the organization. You will drive changes across the company – gaining support from management and teams and setting the pace of change according to the organization's needs. Projects are close to processes. Therefore, you will participate in their management, mapping, and description – especially for key end-to-end processes with a large impact on the overall efficiency of the company.
You have at least 5 years of experience in project/process management and portfolio management, ideally in a larger organization with a complex matrix structure. You know how to implement project governance and methodology from scratch, and where it already exists, you have made it more efficient and improved it – it is not just about maintaining what already works. You have business acumen – you understand 2N's business model and KPIs and can set priorities accordingly; at the same time, you have a technological and economic mindset (you do things with added value and efficiently, not solving what is not needed). You know how to win people over, you are a strong personality, and at the same time a team player. You have been leading and developing people and teams (directly and indirectly) for 5 or more years. You possess strong communication and interpersonal skills – you know how to act at the C-level, lead without direct authority, and collaborate across departments, divisions, and with the parent company Axis. You have led complex projects and transformational programs with a significant impact on the company and know how to formulate a multi-year vision for the portfolio/PMO. You are familiar with waterfall, agile, and hybrid approaches to project management. You master the principles of portfolio management, risk/change management, and KPI management, and know how to work with tools for PM/portfolio/reporting (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Power BI, PPM tools with AI functions). Experience in a technology-manufacturing company dealing with both HW and SW is welcome, as is experience in a business analyst role, process management (BPM) and Lean approaches, or an overview of the ISO/quality area. You speak English fluently and can conduct meetings in English. You work very well with data and its analysis – you master advanced procedures (knowledge of Python or R is an advantage) and actively use AI, including advanced prompting techniques. You divide your work into what you do yourself and what you delegate to AI agents (or are actively preparing for it).
