About the Position: This position serves as the Deputy to the Logistics Management Officer and General Manager for the Theater Logistics Support Center-Europe and Africa (TLSC-E/A), sharing in complete authority and responsibility for the theater-level multifunctional logistics mission. The incumbent provides continuity of leadership by developing strategic plans and objectives, ensuring operational compliance, and maintaining a collaborative staff environment.

Major duties

  • Direct logistics sustainment base operations including supply, maintenance, distribution, and transportation services.
  • Manage subordinate units and geographically dispersed customer support sites to ensure mission support and readiness
  • Develop and implement logistics policies, plans, and procedures to meet command goals and regulatory compliance
  • Oversee financial, property, and human resource management to optimize organizational effectiveness
  • Lead quality assurance and safety programs for theater logistics operations
  • Coordinate with military, government, and industry officials to represent the command and advance logistics objectives

Specialized Experience: One year specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service which includes: (1) Managing a highly diverse workforce such as: civilian personnel and Local Nationals (LN) to direct daily operations and resolve complex personnel matters; (2) managing logistics sustainment base operations for a command including supply, maintenance, distribution, and transportation services within a defined geographic area; AND (3) developing and implementing logistics policies, plans, and procedures to meet organizational goals and compliance with applicable regulations. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accountability Customer Service Decisiveness Flexibility Interpersonal Skills Problem Solving Resilience Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
