Your tasks

• Work on-site with founders and clients based in Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur on strategy, operations, growth, finance, compliance and technology topics.
• Diagnose business problems, structure the analysis and suggest feasible solutions to founders and clients alike through strategy frameworks.
• Understand and take a deep dive into the business sector operated by clients, and provide recommendations on their operating procedures and business process flow diagrams.
• Support business strategy, market expansion and partnership development, and improve processes and workflows.
• Work with Regulatory & Compliance, Product, Technology and IT on fintech frameworks, licensing and system improvements.
• Utilise artificial intelligence and large language models (LLMs) to streamline work processes, while ensuring independent review of output before presenting findings to management and clients alike.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in consulting, fintech, banking, e-commerce, start-ups, technology or operations is encouraged.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, comfortable with data in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Clear communication and presentation skills; comfortable working with clients.
• Fluent English and Mandarin, spoken and written.
• Highly adaptable: learns quickly and can step into any function in a fast-paced environment.
• Leadership potential, strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
• Able to be seconded on-site to client workstations in Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur.

Good to Have

• Experience in fintech, digital payments or other high-volume digital businesses.
• Consulting, strategy or business-analysis internship or project experience.
• SQL, BI or dashboard tools; project-management tools and methods.
• Familiar with AI tools and automation.

Other

The Role We are looking for a Management Consultant, employed in Singapore under 1M R&D. As many of our clients are based in Malaysia, you will be seconded on-site to clients in Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur on a needs basis. You will start with business discovery: getting to know our clients' businesses, processes and people, and agreeing where you can add the most value. You will then take on hands-on consultancy work across strategy, operations, growth, finance, compliance and technology, working directly with senior management and the founders. It suits someone analytical, proactive, adaptable and keen to explore new business sectors. What You Will Do

Employment and Work Location You will be hired by our Singapore entity, 1M R&D, and will receive CPF contributions and the relevant benefits in accordance with Singapore law.
