We are looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer to carry out an advisory project for a client in the Automotive industry. The role is purely analytical-consulting in nature and focuses on architecture assessment, risk analysis, and technological advisory (excluding daily operational support).

The main goal of the project is to assess the current state of network security and determine the strategic direction of development – with a particular focus on the feasibility of investing in NDR (Network Detection & Response) class solutions compared to alternative approaches (Zero Trust, SASE, cloud solutions).

Terms of engagement: Area: Consulting IT / Automotive / Enterprise Network Location: 100% remote Travel: none Start: ASAP (we accept candidates with a max 1-month availability to start) Rate (determined individually): 140 - 150 PLN net + VAT / h Engagement: B2B (outsourcing with 1dea), full-time, long-term (12msc+) Project: advisory-consulting (analysis, concept, strategies; no implementation work at the first stage). The project is aimed at developing investment recommendations by the end of the year, with a possible extension to the PoC/implementation phase in the following year.

Daily tasks

  • Current-State Assessment: Analysis of existing infrastructure and control mechanisms (IDS, SIEM, EDR, ITDR, firewalls, OT segmentation, SD-WAN, cloud).
  • Strategic evaluation: Assessment of the role of NDR in the client's target architecture and analysis of alternatives (Zero Trust, SSE/SASE, CASB, identity-based control).
  • Market analysis and vendor selection (RFI/Vendor Shortlisting): Evaluation of market offers, preparation of RFI inquiries, comparison of vendors in terms of functionality, cost, and scalability, and creation of a shortlist of recommended solutions.
  • Development of an Operating Model: Defining internal, external (Managed Services), and hybrid operating models and division of roles.
  • Decision support and roadmap: Development of a phased implementation path, assessment of priorities, and presentation of ready-to-use investment recommendations to management.
  • PoC phase support (optional): Development of selection criteria and test scenarios for the top 3 vendors and technical supervision over the Proof of Concept process.

Requirements

Requirements: Experience: Strong professional background in the area of network security architecture and conducting audits/security assessments Technological competencies: Practical knowledge of NDR solutions, network monitoring, threat detection, modern cybersecurity frameworks, and cloud and enterprise environments Consulting skills: Experience working in a consultant role (client-facing), evaluating business products, and translating security requirements into practical technical recommendations Language: Fluency in English, both spoken and written (presenting results to management/stakeholders)
