Purchasing Planning Specialist

Our client is a leading company in the design, construction, and installation of complex plants that has commissioned us to search for the figure of Group Buyer (Direct Materials). Reporting to the Head of Direct Purchasing, the main objective will be to maximize synergies between the Business Units, consolidate purchasing volumes, and ensure a uniform approach in terms of cost, quality, and continuity of supply. In close collaboration with the Head of Direct Purchasing, the role contributes to the optimization of total cost, supplier performance, and the promotion of sustainability along the value chain.

Main Responsibilities

• Define and implement Group purchasing strategies for direct materials (electrical/mechanical components, raw materials) in order to leverage synergies between the different companies.
• Aggregate and consolidate volumes to achieve economies of scale and improved negotiating power.
• Conduct tenders, cost analyses, and market benchmarks to identify saving opportunities and risk mitigation.
• Negotiate and manage framework agreements.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Finance to align purchasing strategies with technical and operational needs.
• Manage reporting on saving KPIs, performance, and compliance for management.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Economics, or scientific disciplines.
• At least 5 years of experience in direct materials purchasing, preferably in industrial or manufacturing groups.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of direct material categories and their related cost drivers.
• Experience with ERP systems and procurement platforms.
• Fluent English; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
• Proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to operate in international and matrix environments.
